At Yardspell, we're passionate about nurturing the natural landscapes that make North Texas such a vibrant place to live. Our journey began in 2012 when our founders, Gina Woods and Karen Meder, combined their expertise to create a company dedicated to sustainable landscaping.
Gina had spent over two decades honing her skills as a professional orchid grower and event planner in Mexico, while Karen's background as a master gardener in North Texas gave her a deep understanding of the region's unique climate and native plants. Together, they realized that by focusing on native and adaptive species, they could help restore the delicate ecosystems that were being threatened by development and unsustainable landscaping practices.
As Yardspell grew, we expanded our services beyond just garden installation to include ongoing maintenance. Committed to minimizing our environmental impact, we also incorporated an all-electric fleet of lawn equipment, further supporting the health of our team and the local community.
Yardspell continued to flourish, even through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, as homeowners in North Texas sought out our expertise to transform their outdoor spaces. In 2023, Gina's son, Montana, who had been a project manager for Yardspell for 10 years, purchased the company, ensuring that the business remained a true family affair.
Now at the helm, Montana is focused on bringing additional services and quality to Yardspell, while also modernizing its operations to give clients the best and most polished customer experience possible. With his deep understanding of the company's history and proven track record of successful project management, Montana is well-equipped to guide Yardspell into an even brighter future.
Montana's sister, Marianna, an environmental engineer by training with a strong passion for local trees and plants and a talent for design and project management, has also joined the Yardspell team as the lead designer.
